If Water Is Actively Coming Into the House
Do these four things, in this order, before you do anything else.
- Shut off the main water valve. In most South Central PA homes it is in the basement on the street-facing wall, near the meter.
- Open the lowest faucet in the house to drain the pressure out of the lines.
- Kill the power at the breaker if water is near outlets, an electrical panel or the furnace.
